Alex Jones warns about “total election meddling” after court filing seeks to take his personal X account
Alex Jones has issued a dire warning about personal freedom of speech on social media after the news broke that families of the Sandy Hook massacre victims want to take over his social media accounts in a move he believes is “total election meddling.”
“The Democratic party has now filed in federal court a lawsuit to take over any conservative person’s website they want, including Tucker Carlson, President Trump, Elon Musk; they have filed in federal court to take over RealAlexJones on X,” he announced.
The move is related to a bankruptcy lawsuit over his estate after he was found liable for almost $1.5 billion in damages for suggesting the school shooting was faked in some way. He reached an agreement with the families last week that his assets would be liquidated to cover what he owes, and this will include InfoWars; some of his supporters have suggested that they might try to buy it when it is put up for sale.
Now, a new court filing yesterday by the families demands that his social media accounts also be included in the liquidation. They claim that they are pursuing this so he cannot use them to create or promote new businesses in the future, likening his X account and its 2.3 million followers to the “customer list of any other liquidating business.”
In the filing, the families asked the judge to ensure that his @RealAlexJones account on X is among the assets that are given to the court-appointed trustee who liquidates his assets. Jones said that it’s not just his personal X account they are pursuing; they also want to take away all of his crew’s personal X accounts and any accounts he owns in the future.

“They have filed – we’ll show you the headlines – to take my X account when they take over InfoWars and take any future public operation I have, stealing my voice. It’s like saying we want to cut out Alex Jones’s vocal cords,” he said.
His attorney, Vickie Driver, said the move was procedurally improper and that they would oppose it, adding: “The Connecticut Plaintiffs have never wanted money from Jones but to silence him.”
Jones had previously been banned by X for nearly five years. However, his account was reinstated by new X owner Elon Musk in December following a user poll he carried out asking whether Jones should regain access. Around 70% of the poll’s roughly 2 million respondents voted in favor of reinstating his account.
Jones points out that if they manage to get away with doing this, they can take away the accounts belonging to anyone else they want to silence. It could set a dangerous precedent wherein any time they sue someone, they will be able to take ownership over their social media accounts.
Jones believes Democratic Party is trying to silence him
The move, on the surface, may seem to be part of the lawsuit, but Jones maintains that the Democratic Party is hiding behind Sandy Hook and using the situation to silence him. Moreover, he believes they are really targeting Elon Musk, who he is convinced will stand up for him as it is a direct attack on X and its users.
Jones thinks that the unusually high interest in his social media accounts is part of a desperate attempt to silence him, perhaps because Democrats are planning something big as Trump looks poised to win the election.
“The Deep State is in full panic mode,” he said.
