The House of Representatives has officially passed President Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” (OBBB), sending the sweeping legislation to the White House for his signature just in time for Independence Day.
This marks the end of a major legislative push led by President Trump, congressional Republicans, and key grassroots allies – including AMAC Action. Within hours of the bill returning to the House, AMAC members flooded their representatives with thousands of messages urging swift passage of the OBBB. The outpouring of support helped cement final momentum in the critical moments leading up to the vote.
In total, AMAC members sent nearly 40,000 messages to Congress urging passage of the bill. Last week, two AMAC members, Teresa Thompson of New Jersey and Pam Furrie of Arizona, were also in attendance at a White House event rallying support for the bill. They stood on stage behind President Trump as he shared stories about how Americans from all walks of life will benefit from the OBBB.
“Passage of this bill constitutes a major victory for the American people and builds on President Trump’s record of delivering historic tax relief and investment in American workers,” said AMAC CEO Rebecca Weber. “This bill fulfills on President Trump’s key campaign promises and begins restoring our government as a body that works first and foremost for the benefit of the American people. AMAC members overwhelmingly made their voices heard in support of this legislation, and once again their representatives in Congress listened.”
“Republicans in Congress have succeeded in our mission to enact President Trump‘s America first agenda,” Speaker Mike Johnson said in a statement. “And importantly, we did it in record time so that effects of this nation-shaping legislation can be felt by the American people as soon as possible.”
The final version passed by the House reflects the package that cleared the Senate last week following a dramatic 51-50 vote. That bill slashes over $1.5 trillion in federal spending and delivers on cornerstone promises from President Trump’s campaign – chief among them eliminating taxes on overtime pay and tips, and enacting a $4,000 tax deduction for Americans over age 65.
Passage of the OBBB is a major victory for the conservative movement and a significant milestone for the Trump administration.
From the start, AMAC Action has worked side-by-side with Republican lawmakers to promote this legislation, including during the organization’s annual fly-in, which brought AMAC delegates face-to-face with key decision-makers in Congress.
Now that the bill has passed both chambers, it heads to President Trump’s desk for signature. AMAC Action will continue to keep members informed and engaged as the OBBB becomes law – delivering long-awaited relief for American seniors, workers, and taxpayers across the nation.
