The individual suspected of committing a mass shooting in Cleveland, Texas, resulting in the death of five neighbors, including an eight-year-old child, was taken into custody on Tuesday. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Francisco Oropesa, was apprehended by the Border Patrol Tactical Unit in the Cleveland area.
The incident occurred on the night of April 28, when Oropesa allegedly began firing a rifle in his yard. After a neighbor requested that he stop to allow a baby to sleep, Oropesa is said to have entered the neighbor’s home and killed five of the ten people present.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
