MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE — A 49-year-old man was stopped by TSA officials at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire after attempting to bring 100 rounds of .380 ACP MAGTECH ammunition in his carry-on bag.

The passenger voluntarily surrendered the ammunition to proceed with his flight, according to Mass Live.

TSA regulations prohibit ammunition in carry-on bags, and passengers are advised to consult with their airlines for further guidelines.

Airlines permitting ammunition in checked bags require it to be securely packed in “fiber, wood, or metal boxes” or other suitable packaging.

Passengers should also inquire about any limitations or fees and familiarize themselves with separate guidelines for traveling with firearms.

Firearms are not allowed in carry-on luggage (obviously); they must be unloaded, declared at the checked baggage ticket counter, and transported in a locked hard-sided container as checked baggage only.
