Report: U.S. gave Iran advance notice of ‘one-off’ strike on nuclear sites
The Trump administration tipped off Iran ahead of America’s strikes on three nuclear sites and told them it would be a “one-off” attack, according to a report from Amwaj Media.

BIG: High-ranking Iranian source tells @amwajmedia that Trump team gave advance notice of bombings of nuclear sites and insisted they’re intended as “one-off”. Signs of Trump seeking repeat of Jan 2020 (Soleimani killing=>symbolic Iranian retaliation).https://t.co/wDfPbkKkET

From Amwaj.media, “Exclusive: Iran given advance notice as US insisted attack on nuclear sites is ‘one-off'”:
The story: US President Donald Trump says three key nuclear facilities in Iran have been “obliterated,” while threatening more strikes “if peace does not come quickly.” This comes as Amwaj.media has learned that Washington notified Tehran of the strikes. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a high-ranking Iranian political source confirmed that the Trump administration on June 21 conveyed that it did not seek an all-out confrontation, and only intended to strike the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear sites. Importantly, the senior source also confirmed that the targeted sites were evacuated, with “most” of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium kept in secure locations.
[…] Given that Iran is said to have received prior notice along with a private communication from the US that it does not seek a broader conflict, it could be that Trump seeks a repeat of the events of Jan. 2020. The latter entailed a largely symbolic Iranian ballistic missile attack on American bases in Iraq over Trump’s authorization of the assassination of then-Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani.
CBS News is reporting similar:
The U.S. reached out to Iran diplomatically Saturday to say the strikes are all the U.S. plans and that regime change efforts are not planned, the sources said. Earlier this week, multiple U.S. officials told CBS News that Mr. Trump opposed an Israeli plan to kill Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader.
I said earlier this month when it became clear the US was about to attack that “We can only hope this will be some tit for tat exchange of symbolic strikes and not the start of World War III.”
If these reports are accurate, that may actually be the case.
The great Alastair Crooke floated such a scenario on Judge Napolitano’s show a few weeks back and it seemed plausible.
“A senior Iranian source told Reuters that most of the highly enriched uranium stored at the Fordow nuclear facility was moved to an undisclosed location ahead of the US strikes,” the Middle East Eye reports. “The source added that the number of personnel at the site had also been reduced to a minimum in anticipation of a potential attack.”
“In the two days before the United States carried out strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, satellite imagery shows ‘unusual truck and vehicular activity’ at the Fordow fuel enrichment facility, according to a senior analyst at the satellite firm Maxar,” The Washington Post reports.
“On June 19, there were 16 cargo trucks along the access road leading to the underground military complex. Imagery taken the next day shows that most of the trucks had moved about one kilometer northwest, farther from the facility, according to the analysis. Other trucks and bulldozers were positioned near the site’s entrance, including one truck directly next to it,” the Post added.
It’s believed that Iran was attempting to fortify the entrances to Fordow in preparation for the attack.
There’s no telling yet how successful the attack was. Trump is claiming it was a smashing success but the Iranians are insisting it was a total failure.

Rather than attack the US in the wake of the strikes, Iran instead attacked Israel.

What if Trump just inflamed the Jewish state’s enemies with a one and done strike and then left Israel to fend for itself the same way that during his first term he inflamed the left with all sorts of far right rhetoric only to do nothing for his base?
I’m not saying this is the case but it would be really funny if the pattern repeated itself.
