AMAC Action Statement on the Continuing Resolution
AMAC Action urges Congress to pass a clean Continuing Resolution (CR) to prevent a shutdown and protect seniors’ vital services like Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ benefits. Lawmakers must reject Democrat leaders’ unpopular and unreasonable demands, keep the government open, and honor their commitment to America’s seniors.

Legislation and Policy Support
H.R. 5343 – Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthrough Products Act
This bill takes critical steps to ensure that beneficiaries of federal programs have timely access to lifesaving and life-improving medical devices that have already undergone rigorous review and priority approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). By establishing a transitional coverage period and streamlining the national coverage determination process, this legislation prevents unnecessary bureaucratic delays that have historically kept innovative treatments out of the hands of seniors who need them most. H.R. 4313 – Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act
This bill represents a common-sense, patient-centered solution that empowers seniors to receive safe, high-quality care in the comfort of their own homes. The Acute Hospital Care at Home model delivers better outcomes and lowers the risk of hospital-acquired infections, preserves patient dignity, speeds up recovery, and reduces taxpayer burden. By extending this successful program through 2030, this bill provides the stability and certainty hospitals need to invest in long-term home-based care solutions. H.R. 5347 – Healthcare Efficiency Through Flexibility Act
Meaningful healthcare reform must prioritize patients over paperwork and ensure that transitions to digital systems are practical, affordable, and permanent. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) proposed mandate requiring Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to prematurely adopt electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) is a prime example of bureaucratic overreach that threatens to disrupt care, raise costs, and drive smaller practices out of Medicare altogether. By reducing bureaucratic red tape and allowing ACOs the time and flexibility they need to adapt responsibly, this bill protects both seniors’ access to care and the providers they trust. H.R. 2793 – Retirement Freedom Act
By breaking the forced link between Medicare and Social Security, this bill empowers seniors, respects their autonomy, and pushes back against bureaucratic control. Under current law, seniors who choose not to enroll in Medicare Part A are punished by being forced to give up their Social Security benefits which they have earned through decades of hard work and contributions. Seniors should not be coerced into a one-size-fits-all government program. They deserve the right to keep their private insurance, manage their healthcare decisions independently, and retain the Social Security benefits they paid for throughout their lives. Calls-to-Action
California Parents Urge Governor Newsom to Veto AB 495
The California Legislature recently passed a radical bill that literally redefines the family. AB 495, the ironically titled “Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025”, would allow any school-related medical decision regarding a minor child to be made by a so-called “authorized adult” without the consent of the minor’s parents. AMAC Action launched this call-to-action for Californians to urge Governor Newsom to veto this reckless legislation. If you live in California and would like to leave a message for Governor Newsom, click here.
Demand Documentary Proof of Citizenship for Federal Elections

Term of the Week: continuing resolution
A continuing resolution (CR) is a temporary spending bill that keeps the government running when Congress and the President haven’t agreed on a final budget. Unlike the President’s annual budget proposal, which sets new priorities, CRs generally extend the previous year’s funding levels with only minor adjustments. Congress rarely finishes the budget process on time; in fact, only three times in the last 47 years. Between 2010 and 2022, lawmakers passed 47 CRs, lasting from a single day to nearly six months, and on three occasions, the lack of a CR led to government shutdowns.
