Guttmacher Institute: About 22% of Gen Z in the U.S. ABORTED before birth

  • A Guttmacher Institute estimate suggests about 22 percent of Generation Z in the U.S. (19.5 million out of a potential 88.8 million) were aborted before birth, sparking widespread discussion online.
  • The U.S. numbers align with global abortion data, including WHO estimates that 29 percent of pregnancies worldwide end in abortion and a record-high 29.7 percent in England and Wales in 2022.
  • Generation Z, defined as those born between 1997 and 2011, numbers around 69.3 million living members in the U.S. and is known for its tech-savviness, distrust of institutions and increasing alignment with reality-based worldviews.
  • Dutch commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek called abortion “an unequivocal evil,” stating that life scientifically and morally begins at conception and that abortion kills the most innocent and fragile human lives.
  • Angela Stanton-King, in a resurfaced interview shared by journalist Lara Logan, accused Democrats of promoting abortion disproportionately in the Black community, calling it “human sacrifice on site” and a betrayal of the “Black Lives Matter” message.

A Guttmacher Institute estimate has revealed that nearly 22 percent of Generation Z in the United States were aborted before birth.

Generation Z, broadly defined as those born between 1997 and 2011, is the youngest and most technologically savvy generation, characterized by a deep skepticism of traditional institutions and a strong desire for change. According to Brighteon.AI‘s Enoch, this generation is highly aware of the challenges facing their generation, and is increasingly aligning with a reality-based and common-sense-driven perspective, often referred to as being “red-pilled.” They have an estimated 69.3 million living members in the U.S. today.

However, Guttmacher Institute, a leading reproductive health research organization, has revealed that throughout those years, approximately 19.5 million abortions were performed – suggesting that nearly one in four members of the generation were never born.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 29 percent of all pregnancies worldwide end in abortion, a figure echoed by national data from England and Wales. A 2022 report from the United Kingdom’s Office of National Statistics showed that 29.7 percent of conceptions ended in abortion – the highest proportion on record and a notable rise from 26.5 percent in 2021.

Despite the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022, which triggered abortion bans or restrictions in many states, abortion numbers in the U.S. have reportedly remained high.

Public figures speak out against abortion

The numbers have ignited powerful responses from public figures, including Dutch political commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek and American activist Angela Stanton-King.

“I think that some things deserve to be said over and over and over again and in fact cannot be said often enough,” Vlaardingerbroek said in response to the viral statistic. “Especially when it comes to abortion, which to me is such an unequivocal evil. We have to repeat these facts all the time.” (Related: Pro-abortion feminist ADMITS abortion ends a human life, but says it’s justifiable.)

A vocal pro-life advocate, Vlaardingerbroek explained that her opposition to abortion began long before her conversion to Catholicism or motherhood. “Scientifically, intellectually, and morally speaking, the only valid, good faith, and consistent argument that one can make is that life begins at conception. That means a separate human being has been formed in the womb. The stage in which that life finds itself, or whether it’s (dependent) on the mother, or any other person for that matter, is not decisive for whether or not it has the right to life.”

She continued, calling abortion an act of violence against the most vulnerable. “You kill something so fragile, so worthy of love and life. And I think that’s something that a lot of people don’t even want to admit to.”

The conversation gained further traction when investigative journalist Lara Logan shared the Gen Z abortion statistic alongside a clip from a May interview with Angela Stanton-King, a conservative author and speaker. Stanton-King criticized the Democratic Party’s support for abortion access, alleging that it disproportionately affects the Black community.

“They are performing abortions on site. Human sacrifice on site … And when you go back and look at that video, every woman getting on and off that bus was Black. They are celebrating terminating Black life while saying ‘Black Lives Matter.’ It is the most diabolical thing I have ever seen in my life.”
