The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025 (H.R. 3486), landmark legislation supported by AMAC Action that strengthens border security and establishes tougher penalties for illegal border crossers.

In a letter to House leaders, AMAC Action made clear why this bill is urgently needed. “Under President Biden’s watch, over 10 million unvetted illegal immigrants have crossed into the United States from more than 160 countries, including nations designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism. Even more alarming, over 400 individuals on the Terrorist Watch List were encountered at the border during this administration. These are not just statistics; they represent real threats to our national security, our communities, and our way of life.”

The Stop Illegal Entry Act strengthens penalties for illegal entry and reentry into the United States, ensuring that those who violate immigration laws face serious consequences. It also provides additional resources to federal prosecutors, equipping them to hold repeat offenders and violent criminal aliens accountable.

“Thankfully, the Trump administration has… [pushed] illegal border crossings to all-time lows,” AMAC Action noted in its support letter. “Your legislation would support the great work that has already been done by the Trump administration, strengthening penalties for illegal entry and reentry, ensuring that individuals who violate our immigration laws face serious consequences.”

House Republican leaders have emphasized that the measure builds on President Trump’s successful border enforcement policies by deterring repeat offenders and empowering law enforcement to protect American communities. Representative Stephanie Bice (R-OK), a lead advocate for the bill, highlighted that the legislation “increases penalties for illegal aliens who re-enter the United States, as well as those in the United States who have committed felonies” – a critical step in safeguarding public safety.

House Republican leadership specifically acknowledged AMAC Action’s support for this measure as playing an important role in the passage of this legislation, highlighting the influence that AMAC members continue to have on Capitol Hill.

“As conservatives, we believe in strongly enforcing immigration laws to keep our communities safe,” AMAC Action’s letter continued. “We are committed to working together to help the Trump administration undo the damage caused by years of neglect, lawlessness, and dangerous policies under the Biden administration. H.R. 3486 is a necessary measure to support the administration in protecting our communities, preserving our laws, and restoring order at the border.”

AMAC Action Senior Vice President Andy Mangione praised the outcome: “AMAC members made their voices heard in support of the Stop Illegal Entry Act, and Washington listened. This is a victory not just for AMAC, but for every American who wants a secure border, a safe community, and a nation that enforces its laws.”

With passage in the House, the bill now heads to the Senate, where AMAC Action will continue to advocate for swift passage into law.
