Costco Drops Abortion Pill Following AMAC Action Pressure Campaign

AMAC members have scored another major victory for life and accountability in corporate America. After months of direct engagement and grassroots pressure, Costco has confirmed it will not stock or dispense the abortion drug mifepristone. This decision comes after AMAC Action mobilized members, who sent hundreds of messages to Costco leadership urging them to stay out of the abortion industry.

Bloomberg recently reported that Costco quietly backed away from selling the drug, citing “lack of consumer demand.” But AMAC leaders point to something bigger: proof that when members speak up, corporations listen.

This win is part of a growing track record of AMAC-led efforts holding powerful companies accountable—and building an economy that reflects traditional American values.

S. 2355 – Patients Deserve Price Tags Act

Tell Your Senator to Co-Sponsor the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act! America’s healthcare system hides prices from patients, and seniors are paying the price. This bill, led by Senator and Dr. Roger Marshall (R-KS), will finally require real, upfront pricing across the healthcare system. To gain momentum in the Senate, more co-sponsors are needed.

Term of the Week: Medium of Exchange

A medium of exchange is simply something that people agree to use when buying and selling goods or services. Instead of trading items directly, like a chicken for a sack of grain, people use money (or another portable instrument) to make the transaction easier.

For something to work as a medium of exchange, it must be widely accepted and recognized as having value. That way, both the buyer and seller can trust that the trade is fair and that what they receive can be used again in the future. Today, currency—like the dollar, euro, or yen—is the main medium of exchange. In the past, gold, silver, or other commodities filled this role. Whatever form it takes, it needs to be relatively stable in value; otherwise, people won’t trust it enough to use it.

Compared to barter, money as a medium of exchange makes trade much more efficient. You don’t have to find someone who wants exactly what you have—you just use money to buy what you need, and others can then use that same money for their own purchases.

A good medium of exchange should be portable, divisible, and hard to counterfeit.

Ultimately, the purpose of a medium of exchange is to make trade simple, fair, and predictable. When the system works, economies run smoothly; when it fails, markets can become chaotic, with shortages, unstable prices, and loss of trust.

Quote of the Week

“But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations…This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.”

 — John Adams
