AMAC Action Launches Critical Campaign to Rally Support for Proof of Citizenship in Federal Elections
America’s elections should be decided by her citizens. Yet today, federal voter registration still relies on nothing more than an “honor system,” leaving our elections vulnerable to abuse.
Under current law, when applicants register to vote for federal elections applicants merely check a box attesting that they are citizens. There is no requirement for election officials to verify that claim. This unverifiable self-attestation invites fraud, fuels public skepticism, and undermines the legitimacy of election outcomes.
The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is finally considering a rule that would require proof of citizenship, and AMAC Action has launched a major campaign to support this change. It is a critical step toward restoring integrity and trust in America’s election system.
As AMAC Action Senior Vice President Andy Mangione warned, “Requiring documentary proof of citizenship is common sense and long overdue. The American people deserve to know their votes won’t be canceled out by individuals who are ineligible to participate.”

AMAC Action Commends House Passage of H.R. 3486, Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025
This week the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3486, the Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025.
AMAC Action supported this important legislation (read the support letter) as it strengthens penalties for illegal entry and reentry to the United States while providing federal prosecutors with the tools needed to hold violators accountable. It builds on the Trump administration’s progress in securing the border and ensures our laws are enforced to protect American communities.
Illegal immigration cannot go unpunished, and it must never be incentivized. It’s time we return to a nation that respects its laws, secures its borders, and puts the safety of its citizens first. We commend House Republicans for taking this vital step to restore order at the border.
Legislation and Policy
H.R.5284 – Claiming Age Clarity Act
For years, misleading Social Security terms like “early eligibility age” and “full retirement age” have caused millions of Americans to claim benefits too soon — often losing up to 30% in monthly income. By changing the labels to “minimum,” “standard,” and “maximum” benefit ages, this bill gives retirees clearer, more accurate guidance. These commonsense changes enhance transparency, strengthen the long-term economic well-being of seniors, and do so without expanding the size or scope of government.

H.R.4363 – Defend Girls Athletics Act
This legislation would codify into law President Trump’s Executive Order defending girls’ athletics. Allowing biological males to compete against female athletes undermines decades of progress under Title IX and threatens the integrity of youth and collegiate athletics. Conditioning federal funding on compliance is a necessary step to ensure schools uphold biological reality and safeguard the futures of America’s daughters and granddaughters.

H.R.4581 – 340B PATIENTS Act of 2025
AMAC Action strongly opposes this legislation as this bill would expand a drug pricing program already plagued by profiteering, loopholes, and a lack of accountability while doing nothing to reduce out-of-pocket costs for seniors. Powerful hospital networks and pharmacy middlemen would continue pocketing discounts as seniors pay full price at the counter. Worse, the legislation lacks the safeguards, transparency, and oversight taxpayers deserve. Reform to 340B must begin with accountability, data transparency, and strict oversight, not further expansion of a system ripe for exploitation.

Term of the Week: American Dream
The American Dream is the belief that anyone, no matter their background, can achieve success, freedom, and a better life through hard work and determination. (Britannica.com)
Its roots reach back to the earliest colonists, who sought freedom and opportunity in the New World, and to the Founders, who declared the right to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” in 1776. The phrase American Dream was first used in 1931 by historian James Truslow Adams, who described it not as a quest for wealth, but as the chance for every individual to grow, thrive, and fulfill their God-given potential.
The dream is also directly connected to the U.S. Constitution. Our Constitution guarantees fundamental freedoms, equality under the law, and protections for individual rights. These safeguards make it possible for everyone to pursue their goals, speak their minds, practice their faith, and seek justice. By upholding and defending it, we preserve the framework that allows the American Dream to flourish for every generation.
Over the years, the dream has inspired countless Americans to improve their situation through hard work and determination. And though challenges remain today—rising costs of living, debt burdens, job insecurity, and censorship—the American Dream endures.
It is our responsibility to preserve it and restore it, so that younger generations may inherit a nation where opportunity is real, freedom is protected, and hope is renewed.

“If you believe in something, you need to have the courage to fight for those ideas — not run away from them or try and silence them.”
