AMAC Action Commends President Trump for Delivering Major Victory for Election Integrity
This week, President Donald Trump took decisive action to protect the integrity of the ballot box and ensure our elections remain free, fair, and transparent, delivering a major victory for AMAC members following years of election integrity advocacy by AMAC Action.
In an executive order titled “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections,” President Trump introduced critical measures to strengthen the electoral process. This order mandates that voters provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering for federal elections, ensuring that only eligible American citizens participate in choosing our nation’s leaders.
Additionally, the order requires that all mail-in and absentee ballots be received by Election Day to be counted, upholding the principle that every vote should be timely and valid.
Furthermore, it directs the Department of Justice to prioritize the enforcement of laws prohibiting non-citizen voting and instructs federal agencies to assist states in maintaining accurate and current voter registration lists.
These reforms are essential in addressing vulnerabilities that have been exploited in past elections. By requiring proof of citizenship, this order closes loopholes that could allow ineligible individuals to cast ballots. Ensuring that all ballots are received by Election Day eliminates the uncertainty and potential for manipulation associated with extended counting periods. Moreover, accurate voter registration lists are fundamental to preventing fraud and maintaining public confidence in electoral outcomes.
AMAC Action has long championed initiatives aimed at preserving election integrity. Our members have tirelessly advocated for reforms that protect the sanctity of the voting process, emphasizing the importance of upholding the Constitution, which delegates the power to conduct elections to the states.
President Trump’s executive order aligns with these principles by reinforcing state responsibilities and ensuring federal support in maintaining lawful and orderly elections.
“President Trump’s decisive action to safeguard America’s elections reinforces his unwavering commitment to preserving the integrity of our democratic process,” said AMAC CEO Rebecca Weber. “AMAC applauds the President for strengthening resources available to states to ensure elections remain free, fair, and secure. His steadfast dedication to protecting the sacred right to vote—a principle cherished by so many AMAC members—demonstrates true leadership in upholding the foundation of our republic.”
This landmark action represents a significant triumph for AMAC members and all Americans who value the sanctity of their vote. It addresses longstanding concerns about election security and takes concrete steps to restore faith in our democratic institutions. By implementing these measures, we move closer to an electoral system that is better protected against fraud and reflective of the true will of the people.
We commend President Trump for his unwavering commitment to election integrity and for taking bold steps to ensure that every American’s vote is protected. This executive order is a testament to the power of grassroots advocacy and the impact that dedicated citizens can have on shaping policies that uphold our constitutional values.
AMAC Action remains steadfast in our mission to promote policies that preserve the integrity of our elections and the rights of our citizens. We encourage all members to stay engaged and continue advocating for reforms that strengthen our democracy. Together, we can ensure that the voice of every American is heard and that our electoral process remains a beacon of fairness and transparency.

Term of the Week: budget reconciliation
“Budget reconciliation is a legislative procedure made available as a result of the 1974 Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act. Reconciliation allows for expedited consideration of certain and specified changes in law to align spending, revenue, and the debt limit with agreed-upon budget targets. Over the 50-year history of the Act, 23 budget reconciliation bills have been enacted, most recently the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.
If a concurrent budget resolution includes direct instructions to specified committees to make changes to laws within their jurisdiction to achieve a particular budget outcome, the reconciliation process can be launched. The bill that results from those instructions is known as a reconciliation bill, receives expedited consideration in the Senate—no ability to delay or filibuster—through time limits on debate and, with a consent agreement, amendments.
As a result, a reconciliation bill can avoid the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster threshold and provides lawmakers the chance to pass legislation with a simple majority vote.”
