As a retired U.S. Air Force colonel with decades of experience in intelligence operations, I’ve spent years sounding the alarm on the dangers of politicized intelligence agencies. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s recent revelations on the depth of the corruption surrounding the Russiagate hoax have confirmed my worst suspicions about the unholy crusade to “get Trump.”

Back in January 2017, I penned an article exposing what I called Obama’s fraudulent Russia Intelligence Community Assessment, a sham document that laid the groundwork for the greatest political scandal in American history: the Russia-Trump collusion hoax. Eight years later, the declassified evidence from Gabbard’s office confirms an Obama administration-Clinton campaign conspiracy to manipulate intelligence and undermine a duly elected president.

This is long overdue vindication for conservatives who alleged such a conspiracy all along, but it is also a clarion call to purge the partisan rot from our intelligence community before it further endangers our republic.

On Sunday, Gabbard appeared on national television to announce that new information on the Russia hoax would be released this week. She didn’t mince words: Obama officials, including high-level national security figures, allegedly manufactured intelligence to fabricate the narrative of Russian interference in the 2016 election.

This was no mere oversight – it was a calculated hit job, weaponizing our intelligence apparatus against the political opponents of those in charge.

Gabbard, a former Democrat turned truth-seeker, laid bare how the Obama team subverted the peaceful transfer of power, turning agencies like the CIA and FBI into tools of partisan warfare.

President Trump, who has rightly called this probe a “hoax” for years, is now demanding accountability, even suggesting prosecutions for those involved, including Obama himself.

This earth-shattering story echoes everything I’ve warned about since the hoax’s inception. In my 2017 piece, I detailed how the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on Russian election meddling was riddled with flaws, based not on solid intel but on politicized opposition research like the infamous Steele Dossier. I called it fraudulent then, and Gabbard’s declassifications prove it now.

Fast forward to December 2019, when I publicly accused former CIA Director John Brennan of lying about excluding the dossier from the ICA – it was the poisoned wellspring of the entire narrative. Brennan and his ilk politicized our intel, creating a “grave danger to the Republic,” as I stated five years ago.

Partisan intelligence personnel aren’t just inefficient; they’re rats gnawing at the pillars of our democracy. I urged then-President Trump to clean house, even if it meant dismantling and rebuilding agencies from scratch. Today, with Gabbard’s evidence alleging manipulation by Obama officials, that call is more urgent than ever.

Think about the implications for national security. During my Air Force career, I fused intelligence from multiple sources to make life-or-death decisions, like targeting threats in combat zones. But when agencies are corrupted, as in the FISA abuses I highlighted in January 2020, even high-stakes operations become suspect.

Remember the strike on Qasem Soleimani? I expressed skepticism because military intel was tainted by politicized civilian agencies. Thankfully, in that case, Soleimani was well known and his actions in command and control of Iraqi Shia militias that killed an American and went after our embassy were established facts supporting the decision.

But the Russia hoax took this corruption to an extreme: the full force of U.S. surveillance was trained on a presidential candidate, all under the guise of countering foreign threats. As I wrote in April 2019, this was “political corruption of U.S. intelligence by a President”—Obama—and the genesis of the collusion myth. It wasn’t about protecting America; it was about power grabs that endangered sources, methods, and our very sovereignty.

The media’s role in propping up this farce can’t be ignored. In July 2020, I condemned outlets for irresponsible reporting on unconfirmed intel from compartmentalized programs, which likely burned human sources. Now, with Gabbard’s claims hitting the airwaves, we’re seeing the same playbook: selective leaks and spin to downplay the scandal. But the truth is out. GOP lawmakers are demanding answers, with one congressman insisting, “Obama needs to answer for this.”

Legal experts are breaking down the potential charges (treason, anyone?) as courts gear up for trials.

If we don’t prosecute, we’re inviting more abuses. As I argued in May 2019, the ICA was “suspect from the very beginning,” rooted in treasonous acts against the peaceful transfer of power.

Liberals will claim this is partisan score-settling. But it’s really about restoring trust in institutions that safeguard our freedoms. Politicized intelligence doesn’t discriminate – it threatens all Americans, regardless of ideology. In my May 2019 Human Events article, I outlined my “long-standing concern over our politicized intelligence organizations,” advocating reforms to prevent such dangers. Gabbard’s announcements validate that concern, showing how Obama-era manipulations echoed into endless investigations, impeachments, and division.

As we await the full release this week, let’s demand action. Purge the partisans, reform the FISA process, and hold the guilty accountable – from Brennan to Obama. Our republic hangs in the balance.

I’ve fought for this nation in uniform. Now, in retirement, I’ll keep fighting with words and truth. The Russia hoax wasn’t a mistake – it was an assault on democracy. Thanks to DNI Gabbard, the mask is off. Time to clean house and reclaim our intelligence community for the people.
