- Border Czar Tom Homan announced that deportations targeting public safety and national security threats will commence on Jan. 21.
- The operation will be nationwide, with every ICE office participating, rather than focusing on specific sanctuary cities.
- Homan emphasized that ICE will enforce the law and start deporting individuals who have been ordered to leave by a federal judge.
- The mass deportations will require cooperation from state and local law enforcement agencies.
- Homan stated that the operations will make a positive difference, such as taking criminals off the streets and saving lives by finding victims of sex trafficking and seizing drugs at the border.
Border Czar Tom Homan has revealed that the wave of deportations is set to begin today, Jan. 21.
In a broadcast with “Evening Edit” of Fox Business Network on Jan. 20, Homan revealed that the primary focus of the mass deportations will be on individuals posing threats to public safety and national security. These operations will not be confined to a single city but will be conducted nationwide.
“Look the president’s been clear that, right out of the gate, we’re going to concentrate on public safety threats and national security threats. So, I can’t believe that any elected politician – I don’t care what party you’re from, why would you not want public safety threats out of your communities? That’s your number one responsibility as an elected official is the protection of your communities.”
Host Elizabeth MacDonald then reiterated if the deportations would start the next day and which sanctuary cities would it target specifically.
In response, Homan clarified that the enforcement would not be limited to sanctuary cities, but instead would take place “throughout the country,” with every ICE office participating in the effort to “enforce the law like they should be.”
“Yeah, ICE is going to start doing their job tomorrow,” Homan said. “They haven’t been able to do the job for the last four years and now they’re going to start enforcing the law like they should be… It’s not a specific sanctuary city. They’re going to do it throughout the country and we have offices throughout the country and every ICE office is going to be out there enforcing the law, starting tomorrow morning.” (Related: Tom Homan warns opponents of BORDER SECURITY: “Get the hell out of the way.”)
Homan will partner with state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct mass deportations
A few days earlier, Homan said in an interview with Jan Jekielek of The Epoch Times at the Turning Point USA that the second Trump administration will prioritize border security and the enforcement of immigration laws. This includes the removal of individuals who have already been ordered to leave the country by a federal judge.
“It’s a big operation,” Homan told Jekielek on Jan. 19. “Every day, we’re gonna make a difference. For every criminal we take off the streets, we make the streets safer. For every child we find in sex trafficking, it’s going to save a life. For every pound of fentanyl we seize at the border … there’s going to be less overdose deaths in this country. You’re going to see a difference, starting day one.”
Homan also revealed that the process will require the cooperation of state and local law enforcement agencies.
“We want partnerships with state, local, federal law enforcement,” he said. “So we want American people to get involved. They see a lot of things.”
