Cancer survivors adhering to a Mediterranean diet had a 15-20% lower risk of death from any cause, with reduced mortality from cancer, heart disease and neurodegenerative conditions. Those with “ideal” cardiovascular health (measured by Life’s Simple 7) had a 38% lower risk of death, with each one-point increase in LS7 score reducing cancer mortality by 10%.
