Liberals are once again melting down over Hollywood superstar Sydney Sweeney, this time incensed by a steamy new ad featuring the blonde-haired, blue-eyed “it girl” who has taken the entertainment world by storm. The eyeroll-inducing outrage underscores why Democrats now find themselves on the outs with the public, and in deep trouble with young men in particular.

The ad itself, for American Eagle jeans, is relatively unremarkable. It features a denim-clad Sweeney gazing suggestively at the camera and musing on her “good genes” (get it? Jeans… genes).

As far as double entendres go, it’s hardly the most clever play on words – but cleverness isn’t really the point. Sydney Sweeney is obviously, unquestionably gorgeous. We’re supposed to buy American Eagle jeans because we want to be like her. It’s the oldest marketing strategy in the book: sex sells.

Beyond some adoring male fans, the ad campaign might have largely flown under the radar were it not for the flood of outrage from leftists, who claimed it was nothing short of “Nazi propaganda.” Yes, you read that right – to liberals, an advertisement from a jeans company (which, coincidentally, is owned by a Jewish man) is nothing short of an effort to usher in the Fourth Reich.

One TikTok user, in a post that has garnered more than 200,000 likes, declared, “It’s literally giving Nazi propaganda.”

“Should we be surprised that a company who’s name is literally American Eagle is making fascist propaganda like this?” another asked. “Like a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white woman is talking about her good genes. That is Nazi propaganda.”

“Did American Eagle just run an ad for eugenics?” a third poster asked before stating that Sweeney “could’ve walked straight off a Nazi propaganda poster” and declared that “we are watching fascist aesthetics sneak back into pop culture.”

But it wasn’t just obscure leftists on social media who were devolving into a fit of rage over a commercial for blue jeans. One MSNBC opinion piece declared that the ad “shows an unbridled cultural shift toward whiteness,” calling it “ugly and startling.” Never mind the fact that white men have virtually disappeared from advertisements for major corporations.

The Washington Post, meanwhile, published an entire analysis of how “American Eagle’s Sydney Sweeney ‘good genes’ ad went wrong.” The Independent reported that it sparked “intense criticism,” and Newsweek proclaimed that the ad “sparks debate about eugenics.”

Notably, this isn’t the first time Sydney Sweeney has been at the center of a political firestorm despite not doing or saying anything remotely political. When the 27-year-old first burst on to the cultural scene last year, many on the left simply couldn’t get over the fact that a conventionally attractive white woman was getting so much attention.

The liberal hand-wringing even prompted Newsweek to wonder “how hot girls became the right’s new obsession” – as if men being attracted to beautiful women is an inherently conservative trait. No wonder Democrats are spending $20 million to try to figure out how to talk to men.

The Sydney Sweeney freakout on the left captures everything that is wrong with the Democrat Party and why it has now plummeted to a 35-year low approval rating. Sure, it’s not elected Democrats who are leading the charge to cancel Sweeney, but the woke vanguard that is represents the ethos of the party nonetheless.

Democrats advanced the always ludicrous “body positivity” movement that set out to defy basic biology and convince us all that ugly was beautiful and beautiful was ugly. If American Eagle had run the exact same ad with a 300-pound genderfluid model, the activists now crying about “fascism” would be celebrating the campaign as “brave” and “thought-provoking.”

Sweeney’s rising stardom has shattered the myth that people can be reprogrammed to reject “traditional” beauty standards and embrace whatever liberals declare beauty to be. For that unforgiveable sin, the left hates her.

Moreover, if American Eagle had used a black or Hispanic actress instead of Sweeney, liberals would be lauding it as “bold” and “courageous.” But according to the left’s racial politics, a white person talking about her “good genes” is tantamount to a Nazi salute.

Here Sweeney broke another cardinal rule of the left: white people aren’t allowed to be admired or celebrated in any way.

For everyday Americans who don’t spend their days finding new things to get upset about, it’s all so tiresome. No one outside the left-wing activist class really believes American Eagle is trying to subtly promote Nazism or eugenics, or whatever other ridiculous claims liberals are making.

In the same way, no one outside a few committed leftists really believes that Donald Trump is a “threat to democracy,” that the Republican Party is full of virulent racists, that men can become women, or any of the other absurd lines Democrats are pushing. The outrage has become too performative and the lies too bizarre.

In short, the ideology that Democrats ascribe too has become toxic, and everyday Americans want nothing to do with it. Every unhinged leftist ranting about Sydney Sweeney, every attack on normalcy only adds to the mountain of reasons for people to reject Democrats and everything associated with leftist ideology.
