Two additional minors, also injured, were later identified at the scene. Emergency services rushed all three children to a trauma center, where two remain in stable condition.
According to Major Suarez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation suggests four children, aged between 12 and 14, attempted to rob a man at gunpoint. The intended victim, carrying a firearm, acted in self-defense, turning the situation in his favor. The fourth child was detained without injury, while the shooter voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement and is cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities recovered multiple firearms from the scene, but initial reports that the children were using BB guns remain unconfirmed. The Sheriff’s Office continues to examine the evidence to determine potential charges for those involved.
