There’s only one way to put it – gun owners, hunters, outdoorsmen and women, firearm and ammunition industry members and Second Amendment supporters across the country made their voices loudly heard last night and gave a resounding victory to President-elect Donald Trump and pro-Second Amendment Members of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. Last night’s success was made possible in no small part due to YOUR efforts to get to the polls and vote!
Last night, millions of Americans cast a #GUNVOTE® to protect and preserve their Second Amendment rights. NSSF was proud to lead in that critical effort, but the credit goes to you – the voters – for doing yours when it mattered most!
Previous reports suggested there were at least 22.3 million new first-time gun owners since the 2020 election. Additionally, some estimates suggested as many as 10 million hunters remained unregistered to vote prior to Election Day, including hundreds of thousands in critical swing states. NSSF jumped into action through our #GUNVOTE campaign to identify those voters and get them registered, educated and active to help elect candidates dedicated to preserving and protecting liberty, freedom and the Constitutional rights of all Americans, especially our Second Amendment rights!
The 45th President of the United States is returning to The White House as the 47th. President-elect Donald Trump’s historic and overwhelming victory, not only in the Electoral College but also in the popular vote, is a demonstrative statement by the American people: our rights and freedoms shall not be trampled upon by a White House administration that deemed our industry “the enemy.” A handful of states have yet to be called for President Trump, but all remain in his column, possibly pushing his Electoral College victory up above 300.
NSSF’s #GUNVOTE campaign also identified thousands of previously unregistered voters in key states to get them registered, educated and engaged on the issues and it meant more gun voters showed up to vote in critical U.S. Senate races. In Ohio, Republican pro-Second Amendment candidate Bernie Moreno defeated Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. West Virginia’s senate seat being vacated by Independent incumbent U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin was quickly won by former Republican Governor Jim Justice. In Montana, Democratic Senator Jon Tester was defeated by Republican challenger Tim Sheehy and several races in Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and Pennsylvania remain uncalled though most are leaning in the favor of pro-gun Republican candidates.
These results would not be possible without your efforts. The entire firearm and ammunition industry congratulates President-elect Donald Trump on his decisive victory, as well as all federal candidates who stepped up to put America back on the right track and safeguard our Second Amendment rights.
From all of us at NSSF – Thank you!
