Incoming “border czar” Tom Homan: Trump’s mass deportation operation to start in Chicago
- Incoming “border czar” Tom Homan plans to initiate the largest mass deportation operation in American history in Chicago.
- If local officials, such as the Chicago mayor, refuse to cooperate with the deportation efforts, Homan has threatened to prosecute them.
- Homan stated that the operation would target not only the illegal immigrants but also their families, including the children, by enforcing the law.
- Homan said “dreamers” (illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children) only have two options: leave with their families or remain at their location, with no exceptions for those found in the company of targeted immigrants.
- Homan’s tough stance on illegal immigration has earned praise from pro-MAGA supporters and even some political allies, like Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who shares the goal of reducing violent crime in cities.
Tom Homan, the incoming “border czar” of President-elect Donald Trump has vowed that Chicago will become the focal point of the largest mass deportation operation of illegal immigrants when Trump takes office in 2025.
During a Republican holiday party in Chicago on Dec. 9, Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), reiterated that he would execute Trump’s plan to conduct the largest mass deportation in American history. He then stated that Chicago would be the starting point for a massive crackdown on illegal immigration. If local officials refuse to cooperate, Homan warned that he would prosecute them. “We’re going to start right here in Chicago,” he said during a holiday party hosted by the Law and Order PAC and the Northwest Side GOP Club. “If your Chicago mayor doesn’t want to help, he can step aside. But if he impedes us – if he knowingly harbors or conceals an illegal alien – I will prosecute him.”
Homan also said the children of illegal immigrants are expected to be deported along with their families.
“I’m not looking to separate families at all. That’s not my goal,” Homan said. “My goal is to enforce the law, but if you put yourself in that position, it may happen. But there’s no plan in this administration right now to separate families. It just isn’t. However, we’re going to enforce the law. So if you put yourself in that position, it’s on you.”
Homan also announced that “dreamers” have two options: they can either leave with someone or stay. Additionally, Homan stated that individuals found in the company of targeted immigrants could also be subject to arrest.
Homan earns praise from pro-MAGAs and notable politicians alike
Homan’s tough talk on illegal immigration has earned him significant praise from pro-MAGA social media users.
“Tom Homan the 1st day at the border,” an X user named Nick Kayal posted, alongside a photo of a man using binoculars inside a car. The post generated a wave of support, with comments praising Homan’s no-nonsense approach.
“Straight from Tom Homan! An America where every U.S. citizen is deputized to help find 340,000+ missing children is coming. You heard it correctly America, every U.S. citizen,” another posted.
The tough-talking official’s supporters argue that he is the “Pitbull America needs,” while others called for a more aggressive deportation policy.
“I want Tom Homan to deport so many illegals that I won’t have to press 1 for English ever again, but that’s just me!”
Even a politically unlikely ally, like Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams, has shown support for Homan’s policies.
“His goal is the same goal I have,” Adams, who met with Homan on Dec. 12, said during a press conference after the meeting. “We cannot allow dangerous individuals to commit repeated acts of violence in our cities across America. This can’t be a safe haven for violent individuals.”
