Former Press Secretary Jen Psaki tells Democrats to keep supporting transgenderism
The Democratic Party’s strong focus on liberal cultural issues has led to its disastrous showing in the recent election. However, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki believes the party should keep supporting controversial and unpopular issues like transgenderism and other pro-LGBTQ+ causes.
Some in the party like Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) have implied that part of the reason Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President-elect Donald Trump was the party falling “out of touch” with the public on issues such as gender-confused men in female spaces. Psaki, now the host of her own show on MSNBC, contended recently that such claims are a surrender to so-called “right-wing propaganda.” (Related: More Democrats coming out against transgender participation in women’s sports.)
“This is a good time for Democrats to self-reflect about what went wrong and what to do better moving forward. But during that process, it’s important not to yield to manufactured panic and to align with the actual facts before making sweeping claims,” Psaki said in response to Moulton. “Echoing and adopting the panic from the other side is not leading. It’s not meeting people where they are. It’s simply falling prey to right-wing propaganda without checking the facts first.”
Psaki added that problems like men in women’s sports are inflated due to the “transgender” population being so small. She claimed that the Republican Party’s campaign ads “amplified their bad faith attacks to the point that people do have concerns, as misguided and misinformed as those concerned may be.”
According to Psaki, one instance of this alleged “amplification” is the criticism lobbied at Harris for her previous support for illegal immigrants and prisoners to be allowed to use taxpayer money for sex-change surgeries.
“If that sounds like a particularly obscure issue, it is because it applies to a tiny group of people,” said Psaki, ignoring the unfair burden such a policy places on American taxpayers.
Congressional Democrats have likewise pushed transgender issues in the past few years, like the Equality Act, which would have made gender identity a protected class. They also supported a Transgender Bill of Rights, which would permit student-athletes to participate on teams matching with their gender identity. Both bills have failed to pass Congress.
Exit polling shows voters turned away from Harris due to her focus on cultural issues
Exit polling by the pro-Democrat firm Blueprint actually discovered that the statement “Kamala Harris is focused more on cultural issues like transgender issues rather than helping the middle class” was the third-largest reason for why general voters chose not to vote for her, and the number one reason why swing voters rejected her and voted for Trump.
Several pre- and post-election polling agree that by far Americans’ largest priorities this year were decreasing inflation’s impact on the cost of living and making the southern border strictly controlled.
While it cannot be said for sure how Democrats’ LGBT positions would have impacted the result if voters were happier with their managing of the economy and immigration, at the very least, the result reveals that far too few Americans agree with them strongly enough to prioritize “gender equity” above their own safety and financial stability.
Polling has revealed that most Americans oppose gender-confused males participating in women’s sports, “gender transitioning” minors, and LGBT indoctrination in schools, among other areas of the LGBT agenda.
