A growing body of evidence suggests that the timing of meals plays a significant role in metabolic health, with late eating consistently associated with worse blood sugar control and higher cardiometabolic risk. A new narrative review examining the relationship between meal timing and cardiometabolic health found that individuals who consume the majority of their daily calories after 5 p.m. show poorer glycemic control, lower insulin sensitivity and a greater likelihood of obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
